Get Set for 2010: FREE Social Enterprise Regional Networking conference
Get Set for 2010 focuses on challenges and opportunities, looking at investment and trading for social enterprise.
Wednesday 10 March
9.55am to 2.30pm
Priory Street Centre, York
Peter Holbrook, the new Chief Executive of the Social Enterprise Coalition, will give a state of the sector address at SEYH ‘Get Set for 2010’ event on 10th March in York. We are pleased to announce Peter Holbrook’s first regional public appearance where he will speak about the issues facing the sector. He will touch on what opportunities and threats the general election and changes in public spending may bring.
Prior to joining the coalition, Peter was Chief Executive of Sunlight Development Trust where he had an innovative community led approach to regeneration. Speaking in the Guardian recently, Peter said: "Politically and economically, social enterprise is set to be tested like never before. But alongside the undoubted challenges that face the sector, we have a unique opportunity to promote an economic model that can change not only the way we do business but also society at large."
This is a regional event and is the first time the Chief Executive of the Social Enterprise Coalition has spoke in the region. Peter will be joined by leading figures from the region including Alex Sobel, General Manager of SEYH, Ann Harding of Settle Hydro, and other Social Enterprise leaders to be confirmed.
SEYH and NYFVO present an event for social enterprise to learn more about the opportunities within the region around investment, inter-trading, trading with the public and business. The event will also be an opportunity for social enterprises to network, collaborate and trade. Workshops being run by Key Fund Yorkshire, Charity Bank in the North, Regional Forum, Paperworks and the Social Investment Business will also be run on the day.
Place are limited so don't delay, book online today! Contact Jeanette or Claire at the Forum on 01347 825710 or email nyfvo@nyfvo.org.uk
