Entitlements during Maternity & Adoption Leave

There has been a change in the rights of employees whilst on maternity or adoption leave which will affect all employees whose expected date of childbirth or placement for adoption falls on or after 5 October 2008.
Such employees will be entitled to the same terns and conditions of employment (except pay) during both ordinary and additional maternity leave.
For employees whose expected date of childbirth or placement for adoption was prior to 5 October, only statutory employment rights apply during the additional maternity leave period.
