North Yorkshire LINk formally launches at AGM
28-05-2009 16:55
The North Yorkshire LINk was formally launched at its Annual General Meeting, held on 25th March in Easingwold and attended by over 60 individuals with an interest in health and social care, and representatives from community and voluntary sector organisations from across the county.
They heard how the LINk has developed a structure for working across the seven district authority areas, and how it is working to establish a management board which will reflect each of the seven areas and the wider North Yorkshire picture for health and social care issues affecting local communities. Opportunities were available for people to sign up to local groups being established in each of the seven districts, and to get involved in several themed groups looking at such topics as publicity and community engagement.
The LINk is now beginning this focused work on ensuring that local people get the best possible health and social care services, and making sure that the voice of local people is heard in the decision making process for service commissioning and delivery. Meetings were held across the seven districts during April and early May to get the local groups started, and further opportunities exist for local people to join these and get involved within their community on behalf of the LINk.
The LINk has developed a work plan identifying its key priorities for the next 12 months, and each district group is now developing an action plan for these issues.
